Marvel Comics has just released its full call for December 2022, but now we’ve got a deeper look at Marvel’s future prospects through its distributor’s website, Penguin Random House (opens in new tab). The distributor’s public-facing retailer website includes a cover gallery of titles that have announced plans for a January 2023 release.
Several covers have already been previewed, including the recently announced main cover for Avengers: Through Time, which celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Avengers in 2023 and marks the collaboration between longtime DC writer/editor Paul Levitz and veteran Avengers artist Ai Len made his Marvel Comics Davis debut together.
There’s also the cover of Midnight Suns #5, showing the previously revealed youthful redesign of Agatha Harkness, which begins with Midnight Suns #2 digging into the story of her ancient past. Interestingly, the cover of Midnight Sun #5 seems to place Agatha alongside modern-day members of the paranormal team, which may suggest that her younger self might somehow cross over to today. It’s not a far-fetched idea that a streaming series of her own starring Katherine Hahn is on the way.

In terms of content we’ve never seen before, there are dozens of covers for nearly all of Marvel’s regular series, including a particularly cool Savage Avengers #9 tribute cover that echoes the now-iconic Uncanny X -Men #Cover 141, the beginning of the “Past of the Future” story. Considering that the Savage Avengers just found themselves in a futuristic world in 2099, the time travel theme is just right.
This is one of several tribute variant covers.
The X-Men and Avengers series also have post-AXE covers as the X-Men series prepares for the “Sin of Sin” story and the Avengers into “The Avengers,” as longtime writer Jason Aaron headlines. Plus, get a first look at the cover of the Murderworld: Wolverine Special Edition, and possible hints of upcoming storylines, such as the Punisher meeting Daredevil, the Golden Goblin confronting the Goblin Queen, and more.
So here’s a gallery of all 64 of the new January 2023 covers – though you’ll have to wait until October to see the actual Marvel Comics January 2023 solicitation:
