Xbox Elite Series 2 White Core Controller Is Available Now

Announced earlier this month, the Xbox Elite Series 2 “Core” models are now available. Stripped down to the “must haves”, the new white pro-style controller costs $130. The Core Elite Series 2 offers Xbox and PC users a more affordable option in the premium controller market. The Complete Component Pack comes with add-ons like paddles and additional analog sticks for $60.Both products are available in Microsoft Store and Amazon.

The controller features adjustable tension thumbsticks, rubber grips on the handle, and hair trigger locks. Button mappings are available through the Xbox Accessories app, just like regular models.

If players want to upgrade or replace components on their existing Series 2 controllers, they can purchase the full component pack for $60. This includes interchangeable thumbsticks, paddles and new directional pads. It also comes with a carrying case, charging cradle and USB-C cable.

Comparing Two Elite Series 2 Controllers

Additionally, Microsoft announced that the Elite Series 2 will be joining the Xbox Design Lab this holiday season. This will allow players to create and customize their own Xbox controllers, with Elite Series 2 models joining the options lineup. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but Design Lab controllers typically cost around $10 more than standard models.

Microsoft also showed off a new feature for Elite Series 2 users. Players can adjust the lighting of the Xbox buttons on the controller from white to more colors. This feature will be available in the Xbox Accessories app.


Microsoft’s newest Elite controllers are designed for performance and competition. Specifically, hair trigger locks can help players be more competitive in shooters because they allow players to start shooting sooner. The Elite controller was also generally well-received, earning solid review scores.
