Genshin Impact on the Steam Deck Not yet, but a Valve TGS trailer hints that it could be coming soon. While the handheld gaming PC currently lacks official support for action RPGs, its presence in promotional materials suggests that official SteamOS support may be on the way.

Shared by YouTube channel Komodo, Steam Deck Genshin Impact compatibility tips can be found within seconds of the Valve TGS 2022 footage. So, does this mean that Genshin Impact will soon get official Steam deck support? Well, to do that, it needs to be released on Valve’s storefront. Currently, the only way to get a free RPG is to head to the Epic Play Store or use the game’s official launcher. The game’s inclusion in the TGS trailer suggests compatibility is (or was) on the desktop, but that’s by no means a solid confirmation of upcoming SteamOS support.

Technically, the Deck can run anything that can run on a regular rig. However, there are caveats to using Genshin Impact downloads on the Steam deck, as you will need to disable the built-in anti-cheat measures – which may result in account bans.

Mihoyo’s popular role-playing game could be a hit on Valve’s handheld, especially since it’s the gaming PC scene’s answer to Breath of the Wild. Still, it’s best to wait for official support to arrive before attempting a free adventure on the go.
