The Nvidia RTX 4070 won’t be the best graphics card in terms of specs, but it could be a winning solution if you’re looking to balance price and performance.

Just like the GeForce RTX 3070, Team Green’s next-gen GPU should work perfectly with a midrange gaming PC, and it can even turn your rig into a ray-tracing powerhouse for less than an RTX 4080.

To help you push your next console, we’ve rounded up all the rumours we know about the RTX 4070 release date, price, specs, and benchmarks.

Here’s what we know about the Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU:

Nvidia RTX 4070 price guess

The RTX 4070 hasn’t been priced yet, but it will likely cost less than the Nvidia RTX 4080, which starts at $899/£949. Since the RTX 3070 was released at $499, we’re bringing its MSRP down to between $549 and $699. But with the RTX 4090 priced at $1,599/£1,679, it could be even higher.

Nvidia RTX 4070 release date rumored

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 and 4090 are official and will be released in October and November. However, we still don’t know if or when the RTX 4070 will be released, as Nvidia has been mum on its mid-range graphics cards.

Moore’s Law is dead Heard that some cards may be delayed until later in the year, and sources close Wccftech Hint that we might have to wait until 2023. In the meantime, you should take any predictions of next-gen GPU arrivals with a grain of salt.

Nvidia RTX 4070 specs rumored

It is certain that the Nvidia RTX 4070 will be equipped with the latest deep learning supersampling, as Nvidia DLSS 3.0 is only available for GeForce RTX 4000 GPUs. Beyond that, Team green seems to be keeping its next-gen GPU a secret.

Leaks suggest that the RTX 4070 will pack RTX 3090 Ti-level performance, and clock speeds that surpass the RTX 4090. Also, mid-range RTX 4000 cards can now apparently rock GDDR6X VRAM, just like the RTX 4080.

An Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti could also be a thing, with a “full-fat” AD104 chip said to stand up to an RTX 3090 Ti. It is speculated that this variant also comes with 12GB of GDDR6X memory, but it requires up to 400W of power juice.

Nvidia RTX 4070 benchmark rumors

Expect the RTX 4070 benchmarks and reviews to finally reveal what the graphics card is capable of, but we need to address leaks and whispers now. Moore’s Law is dead The AD103 GPU representing the RTX 4070 is 10-30% faster than the RTX 3090 and 50% faster when handling intensive workloads like ray tracing. That means midrange chips will likely outperform current high-end cards, but keep in mind that these metrics are hypothetical and based on early data.

The card will likely still use the same 12-pin PCIe 5.0 power connector, but its relative RTX 3090 performance will likely match a similar 350W TDP. So if your rig uses one of the best power supplies for an RTX 3000 card, your RTX 4070 upgrade may not require a shiny new PSU.
