The first weekend of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II beta has come and gone, and the second weekend is about to begin.
Weekend #1 was all about PlayStation. While Microsoft has been acquiring Activision, the PlayStation/Call of Duty deal is still there – for now. If Microsoft’s acquisition goes according to plan, this will be the last year we see PS4 and PS5 gamers gain an edge in the Call of Duty release.
This time, however, PC and Xbox gamers have to wait. They could go back this weekend into two different testing phases. Here’s how it breaks down:
modern warfare II Beta Weekend #2 Early Access kicks off on Thursday, September 22 at 10AM PT / 1PM ET. This is open to all PlayStation gamers as well as PC and Xbox gamers who pre-order or have an Early Access key.

The public beta (including all players on PC, Xbox and PlayStation) will begin on Saturday, September 24th at 10AM PT/1PM ET.
The beta was a controversial introduction to Modern Warfare II with a number of divisive gameplay decisions, such as removing enemy nameplates. I’d love to see what everyone thinks.
