Cyberpunk 2077’s visuals have been boosted yet again, and future updates will include Nvidia’s latest features, including Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode and Nvidia DLSS3 – both of which are only available on the RTX 40-series.
As Nvidia announced, the RTX 40 series will feature the third iteration of deep learning supersampling. Compared to normal rendering, DLSS3 can improve performance by a factor of four – which roughly means players get better graphics at higher frame rates.
Ray Tracing: Overdrive mode essentially increases the fidelity of reflections, lights and shadows.according to Nvidia’s Blog, Ray Tracing: Overdrive in Cyberpunk 2077 will cause ray traced lighting and reflections to bounce multiple times, creating a more “immersive global illumination”.
Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t the only DLSS3-enabled game. There are 35 other games, including Microsoft Simulator and The Witcher. According to Nvidia, the first visual update to support DLSS3 will be rolling out in October 2022.
